Get to know me
Hello! My name is Johanna. I am a young woman who is full of happiness and fun! I absolutely love folk dancing, music, American Sign Language, hanging out with my friends, and drinking coffee! I am definitely an extrovert and look forward to getting to know you! I hope you enjoy my website!
I started Learn2Thrive as a one on one tutoring business. I teach the Barton Reading and Spelling System. I hope one day to branch out and offer more services, such as ASL, but this is all I am offering at this time. My goal is to help children with dyslexia and other reading and spelling struggles to thrive! I have dyslexia myself so can understand some of the frustrations of it. I have gone through all ten levels of the Barton system and found it very beneficial! I hope you will too!
What I do...
My job is working one-on-one with children and people, helping them learn to read and spell. I use the Barton Reading and Spelling system, which specializes in working with people with dyslexia. I love watching the progress and happiness as they discover the mysteries of reading and spelling. Come with me and embark on the journey of a life time!
Personalized Lessons
A lesson never looks the same for one student as it does for another. I move along at the pace the student sets, reviewing as needed, and making sure to take breaks for lesson enforcing games, when they get wiggly or discouraged. All of our sessions are 50 minutes longs, and we meet at least twice a week. We form a friendship and work together to make learning fun and not frustrating, a safe place to work, explore and grow.
I work mostly online, so you can be anywhere in the USA and still receive my services!
